Membership

Organized in 1984, the Canadian Society for Circumpolar Health (CSCH) is a non-government organization with the purpose to improve and maintain the health of circumpolar people in Canada. Circumpolar is defined as including all indigenous peoples in Canada, regardless of area of residence.

One-year CSCH membership is open to any person in agreement with CSCH’s purpose. CSCH membership includes:

• Four annual issues of the International Journal of Circumpolar Health published by the International Union for Circumpolar Health, Nordic Society of Arctic Medicine and the University of Oulu (Finland).
• Involvement with networking activities related to circumpolar research, policy, and practice.

As a member organization of the International Union for Circumpolar Health (IUCH), CSCH is actively involved with the planning and organizing of the International Congress for Circumpolar Health held every 3 years. Other IUCH member organizations include: American Society for Circumpolar Health; Danish/Greenlandic Society for Circumpolar Health; Nordic Society for Arctic Medicine; and the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences.
